In response to Arizona...really

When I was, browsing my colleague's blog, I found Arizona… really. This is a blog about the Arizona’s Immigration Law. The author says that Arizona has passed this bill, which is failing in few years. Author says that Arizona’s law will promote racial profiling. He argues Arizona's law has granted rights to police to investigate the id and their position if they suspect anyone to be illegal. The author said that he is not satisfied with the law and does not require such law in Texas. In addition, he guesses that the economy of Arizona will fail because the immigrants will not be there to do all the labor work. Author adds that legal Citizens are not willing to do all of labor works. He also blames Arizona for making racial profiling licensed in Arizona through the Immigraton law.

I do think that Arizona’s Immigration law was not a smart idea. We have the right to express our dissatisfaction on the jobs done by our Government. However, I think the author needs more ideas and information to give more power and truthful facts. Author should provide complete and logical ideas why he is arguing against Arizona’s Law. I did not find any material facts and idea that strongly supports his argument. Therefore, the author’s arguments were weak and just based on his reaction rather than facts and logics. He has a solid beginning but, his thesis and resolution were not enough and strong. It is true that he has asked questions at the beginning and in the middle of the content. I think it would have been better if he would research more ideas rather than limited blog with extremely little information. Arizona’s Immigration law is one of the hot topics at present, so the author could have added a bit more and new ideas regarding it. Therefore, author has weak argument without explicit facts, evidences, and information. The author is unsuccessful to provide clear vision about his argument.

Acevedo to remain in Austin

It is fantastic news that Austin Police Chief Art Acevedo is staying in Austin. Acevedo has withdrawn his name from the Dallas finalist for Police Chief. Acevedo said that he belongs to Austin, and follows his heart. Acevedo has been in Austin for almost three years and is credited for various improvements in the Austin Police Department. Everyone from top Austin officials to Community leaders greeted his decision. His leadership is highly appreciated by everyone. City Manager Ott released the report, regarding Acevedo’s decision to stay in Austin where he has said, Acevedo's commitment to transparency and accountability has made the Austin Police Department one of the best managed forces in the nation.” Mayor Lee said, “He has done a service to the community; he has done a lot for the police force.”

It is not known if he received the formal offer from Dallas, but it is said that he had been negotiating salary and other employment terms. He has clearly indicated that the decision to apply for the position of Dallas Police Chief was not a sign of his dissatisfaction with the police department. When Dallas officials said in March that Acevedo was one of the six finalists for the Dallas Chief Position, the announcement had incited speculation that he might use the Dallas Offer to booster his salary. However, after remaining four days in Dallas finalist, he announced to quit and stay in Austin. Acevedo said that he enjoyed and appreciated the opportunity to interview where he met chief officers and union representatives. In addition, he said he has not been for Austin in a full three years yet. However, citizens of Austin see him remarkably well.

Whatever reason he had behind announcing to be among the six finalists in the Position of Dallas Officer and withdrawing again, we appreciate that he has made up his desire to stay in Austin. He has been able to win the heart of Austin People in extremely short time through his moral and secure judgments and efforts. Many chief officers have appreciated his works and efforts to serve better. Finally, we got our Police Chief back in Austin, which is excellent news for everyone.

Response to my classmate's blog

As I was reading my classmate’s blog, it grabbed my attention. The issue was about the effect of drug policy on Texas-Mexico Border Violence. The author has said that the recent killing of three US Consulate members in Juarez has increased the violent behaviour in Texas-Mexico Border. In addition to that, he says that this is one of the serious issues of the Mexicans and Americans. US State Department has included Mexico in the list of Travel Warning because of long-term, protracted conditions. The crime has increased in Mexico and Texas because of the massive drug cartel. According to the Harvard economics professor, Jeffery Miron, the prohibition system has increased the illegal markets because the buyers and sellers cannot settle their disputes in the lawsuits. He has suggested for the legalizations of drugs despites of it's disadvantages.

The author’s intended audience is entire American and Mexican People. He has stated his perfect view of the issue he has been arguing for. He has enough logics and evidences to support his belief. In addition to that, he has taken advantage of the quote stated by different people in the related issue. I that the quote and the statistic had added more power in his argument. He has used enough facts and information to make his argument persuasive and relevant. He has not simply presented his opinion instead,he has strong argument with enough information. He has also used enough researched material for the related issue.

It is a well-written editorial with well-presented arguments. He has focused on the issue and included the relevant data and information. He has used enough logics and evidences. His editorial has lots of creditability. In conclusion, the author has done an fantastic job. He is successful in his argument.

Texas Government in is increasing the security in Mexico border

Mexican Border Issue is a hot debate to everyone. People are always concerned about the security in the border side and Texas government has been very busy about increasing the border security to control the crimes increasing in the Mexico border. U.S. Rep. Ciro Rodriguez has asked Gov. Ricky Perry to increase the Home Land Security Funds to the Mexican Border. Since the crime activities in the Mexican border have increased at alarming rate, Government is seriously acting on it to stop the crime rate and to provide the security to the people living in border. Recently, Rodriguez has asked $15 million in an additional federal fund to help the local authorities to pay for increased patrol and equipment. He hopes the additional resources will help to keep the community safe. He says that he has not been reported any spillover violence in a recent month. The security process has been increased as many residents had fear about the cartel thugs.

Now we can expect the mild and ineffective border security has been stronger and effective. The security at the neighboring Mexican border has been increased strongly as people living in the border have been troubled by drug cartels. As far as the security matter, recently Texas government has increased its security in those areas very seriously. We are well known about the drug related Issues in the Mexican Border, but we will soon get to hear about very tight security to stop those kinds of illegal activates. Controlling crime at the border is not going to get easier but at least efforts have been made. Let us pray we will not hear about any crimes or incident in the Mexican border every now and then.

“Applying for Food Stamp isn’t easy”, Audit says

As the title itself says applying for food stamp in Austin isn’t easy, it isn’t easy at all. There are various reasons behind it .The first reason is the excessive increasing of food stamp enrollment which is by 45 percent since March 2008.According to Stephanie Goodman, a spokeswoman for the Health and Human Services Commission, workers have had trouble in keeping pace because of such increment in Food Stamp Enrollment. He said that state has added 800 workers to catch up the work. Many people have state their unsatisfaction but, the state is trying to manage everything by hiring the number of workers to increase the work efficiency.

According to the report, the state is failing to process food stamp applications as quickly as required by the federal government. It offers suggestions on improving communication with applicants, better utilizing technology and improving clerical training. State Auditor John Keel said that people make unnecessary trips to the office and sometimes sit there for number of hours just to submit the application or to ask a question.

In conclusion, it is a well written article with well presented arguments. A bigger emphasis on the Texans problem who are applying for Food Stamp. The author has explained why the Austin State is failing to provide food Stamp application as quickly as required by the federal Government. He is successful in arguing that Texas Government is working on to satisfy the people’s need and solution to the people’s problem. He has well addressed the people’s problem from his prospective. Therefore, I think the Author has done good job by writing about the people’s problem and the effort of Texas Government to solve those problem.

Danger in Southern Border:

The increasing danger in southern border is a big concern today. The toll of American citizen death has been raised and it is absolutely insecure in the southern side of the country. The increasing activity of drug cartels in Mexico and the inability of Mexican government to control them have created an unrest and indefinite violence in bordering city in Mexico. American citizen are followed and targeted as a result of the violence.

Considering the ongoing violence in Mexico the Texas Department of Public Safety has warned students to avoid Mexico for their spring break. Also the fedral government has put Mexico on the list of danger to travel. The recent attack to US consulate, numerous unresolved cases of attacks to US citizen, confrontation of law enforcement by drug cartels members with automatic weapons and grenades are some recent proof of insecurity. The violence may have started in Mexico but we will ultimately be affected by that down the road. We Texan being the bordering state should be more concerned.

Rick Perry criticized the federal government heavily, for its lack of concern in the border . He argued that it is not just the matter of immigration policy but it is matter of American life. Perry said he has recently increased the presence of law enforcement officials in the border as a state effort to control the violence and stop it on the other side of border before it gets to Texas. Perry says that’s not enough and we need more help from the federal government to save life of Texan.

I chose this editorial because I want all the people to be aware of increasing illegal activities in Mexico-Texas border. Perry says it is not a politically charged debate about the finer points of immigration policy but it is about protecting lives. I completely agree with him and I expect all the people to know about it. This article has a lot of credibility .The author has tried to make the people conscious and alert in this matter. He has used logic, facts and statistics to add more value in his article.

Guns to be allowed in National Parks

According to < http://www.statesman.com/news/nation/guns-to-be-allowed-in-national-parks-257888.html?cxtype=rss_nation>our federal government has declared that visitors of the national park could carry guns with proper permits and could pack firearms along with the campaign and picnic gears to most of the 392 parks. National Park Service has said that visitors could be able to carry concealed and loaded guns into the Parks. And Texas law has permitted to carry concealed weapons.

I think the decision of the government allowing guns to national parks is a doubtful and insecure decision. We have seen so many incidents of misusing the gun in the past. I think permitting the guns in the National Parks is inappropriate. I personally do not think there would be necessicity of carrying gun inside a park. I did not find any specific reason why our local government had to permit such law.

I chose this article so that more people would know about the recently implemented law by our government about carrying gun in National park.
